Job summary

ThinkTek LLC seeks a Cabling Installer to support a DoD client at the Pentagon in the National Capital Region. The role covers structured copper cabling and wireless AP installation, including cable pulls and testing, under crew lead supervision.

The candidate will install CAT6 cabling, terminate and test per ANSI/TIA-568, read installation drawings, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Pentagon experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required.
• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• BICSI Installer 2, Copper (INSTC) certification.
• 2–3 years of structured copper cabling experience.
• Proficiency in CAT6 cable pulling, termination, and testing to ANSI/TIA-568.
• Ability to read cabling plans and installation drawings.
• Ability to perform physical installation work (lifting up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and test Category 6 copper cabling for wireless AP installation.
• Pull cables through pathways, telecom rooms, and ceilings per approved plans.
• Test and troubleshoot copper cabling to ANSI/TIA-568 with test equipment.
• Install and mount access points and verify connectivity.
• Remove legacy equipment and support site restoration (fire-stop, ceiling tiles).
• Assist with inventory and documentation updates.
• Maintain labeling and cabling documentation.
• Follow quality, safety, and code requirements.
