Job summary

Jacobs in the Northwest Region of the Americas is seeking a Design Manager to lead multi-year ports and maritime projects from WA state. You will coordinate client expectations, discipline leads, and external partners to deliver design documents on time and to the required quality, across detailed design through construction phases where applicable.

This role requires a civil engineering degree, 10–15 years of ports experience, and ability to manage remote teams across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 10–15 years of ports and maritime design and project delivery experience, large-scale infrastructure projects worth $50M+ USD.
• Experience in Ferry Terminal Projects in WA, AK, PNW region or nationally is a plus.
• PE registration in Washington State is preferred.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior design leadership for a multi-disciplinary team of design professionals for delivery of multi-year infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with discipline leads, client, and external partners to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Manage project design scope, schedule, and budgets, ensuring alignment with contract requirements.
• Lead design reviews, design integration, risk management, and constructability reviews.
• Support multi-location teams and remote project delivery to minimize conflicts and delays.
