Job summary

Our client, a large multi-state investor-owned electric utility, seeks a Corporate Counsel to advise on FERC transmission ratemaking and represent the company before FERC. The role involves regulatory accounting, cost-of-service issues, and managing outside counsel in proceedings.

Requirements include a J.D. from an accredited university, active bar membership, and 10–15 years of regulatory ratemaking/litigation experience, with strong APA knowledge and independent work ability.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited university.
• Bar admission in at least one state.

Responsibilities

• Advise on federal public utility regulatory law with emphasis on FERC transmission ratemaking.
• Advise internal clients on regulatory accounting, formula rate design, transmission incentives, and tariff recovery.
• Conduct legal research and draft documents related to APA matters and appellate strategy.
• Collaborate with internal teams, consultants and outside counsel.
• Provide legal, strategic, and business advice to support transmission utilities.
