Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel is seeking a Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Development to lead legal support for large-scale transmission infrastructure projects across New York and the Eastern United States.

The role requires deep regulatory experience with NYS agencies and FERC, plus familiarity with Article VIII siting, permitting, and stakeholder coordination. JD from an accredited law school and New York bar license are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Experience in transmission/energy infrastructure permitting.
• Experience with NYS and Federal agencies (FERC, NYPSC, NYISO).
• Experience with Article VIII Applications and other permitting processes.
• New York license to practice law required.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory and development permitting for multi-billion dollar transmission projects across NY and the Eastern U.S.
• Coordinate with agencies and stakeholders to advance siting and approvals.
• Provide strategic legal advice on permitting, compliance, and project milestones.

Exciting opportunity to join a quickly growing electric transmission infrastructure developer and owner/operator as a Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Development.

Summary

• Business critical role focused on large-scale multi-billion dollar transmission infrastructure projects across New York and the Eastern United States.
• Legal experience related to transmission or energy infrastructure permitting and development is required.
• Experience working with New York State and Federal agencies is a must-have, including but not limited to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the New York Public Service Commission (NY PSC), the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO), and other key agencies / stakeholders.
• Experience with Article VIII Applications ("Siting of Renewable Energy and Electric Transmission") and additional permitting as required from federal, state, and municipal authorities, is required.
• JD From accredited law school required.
• License to practice law in New York required.
