American Electric Power seeks an Assistant General Counsel / Senior Counsel, FERC to lead and independently manage significant federal energy regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and in PJM, SPP, and MISO. Responsibilities

• Represent AEP on complex FERC proceedings and disputes involving transmission rates and service.
• Develop and execute regulatory strategy from issue identification through resolution; prepare filings and briefs; advocate positions.
• Represent AEP in PJM, SPP and MISO processes; work with FERC and business leaders to shape outcomes on transmission and markets.
• Provide business-oriented legal advice regarding FERC jurisdiction, tariffs, transmission service and interconnection.
• Advise on complex rate matters including transmission formula rates and cost of service.
• Lead the FERC-regulatory workstream for corporate initiatives including large-scale investments and acquisitions.
