Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking an Assistant General Counsel / Senior Counsel, FERC to lead major federal energy regulatory matters before FERC and regional grids. Qualifications

• JD required with strong FERC regulatory experience.
• Experience in electric utility sector and rate proceedings is preferred.
• Ability to manage complex regulatory dockets and coordinate with outside counsel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and independently manage significant federal energy regulatory matters before FERC and in PJM, SPP, and MISO.
• Develop and execute regulatory strategy from issue identification through resolution.
• Advise senior leaders and coordinate with internal teams and outside counsel.
