Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Technical Fellow for Non‑Conventional Machining to lead advanced processes such as laser cutting, EDM, ECM, WEDM and waterjet. The role requires deep expertise in consumable tooling, fixturing and related equipment, with collaboration across Engineering, Quality, and Capital Equipment teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering field.
• 20+ years of relevant experience in aviation, turbomachinery and/or gas turbine industries.
• Excellent communication skills, including presentations and written communications.
• Willingness to travel 20–30%.
• U.S. citizen is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under certain programs/contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of systemic quality and production issues related to Non‑Conventional Machining across internal and external sites.
• Establish performance benchmarks and standardization to achieve best‑in‑class NM processes.
• Lead Non‑Conventional Machining Process Council.
• Own the NM technology roadmap & PFMEA ownership.
• Develop employee proficiency levels, training and mentorship for the sub‑discipline.
• Contribute to and review technical specifications for capital acquisitions.
• Be the change agent for NM procedures and standard work.
• Share best practices across producers.
• Support patent review teams as needed.
