Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Technical Fellow – Non-Conventional Machining in Connecticut to lead the global Non-Conventional Machining capability. The role covers laser cutting, EDM, ECM, WEDM and waterjet, plus tooling and fixturing expertise.

The candidate will need 20+ years in aerospace manufacturing, U.S. citizenship, and be prepared for 20–30% travel. Onsite CT or Asheville, NC locations are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering field.
• 20+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in aviation, turbomachinery and/or gas turbine industries.
• Excellent communication skills, including 1-on-1, group presentations, and written communications.
• 20-30% travel.
• U.S. citizen is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information.

Responsibilities

• Lead Non-Conventional Machining Process Council across worldwide sites.
• Resolve systemic quality and production issues related to Non-Conventional Machining.
• Establish performance benchmarks and standardization for processes.
• Own the Non-Conventional Machining technology roadmap & PFMEA.
• Develop employee proficiency, training and mentorship for the sub-discipline.
• Contribute to and review technical specifications for future capital acquisitions.
• Be the change agent for procedures and standard work.
• Share best practices across producers and collaborate with internal teams.
• Connect CT or Asheville, NC locations as preferred work sites.
