Job summary

Agile Defense, LLC is seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Senior to support FBI programs in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on developing and refining methodologies to categorize FBI IT systems based on security, risk, and mission factors.

The ideal candidate will have Top Secret clearance, relevant federal cybersecurity experience, and certifications such as CISSP or CISM. Expect collaboration with leadership, COR, and PMs to ensure defensible categorization and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
8+ years of experience in cybersecurity compliance, information assurance, ISSO support, or system security governance in a federal environment.
One of the following certifications: CISM, CISSO, CISSP, CISSP-ISSMP, FITSP-M, GCIA, GCIH, GCSA, or GSLC

Responsibilities

Support development and maintenance of a documented methodology to categorize FBI IT systems based on; Classification level, FBI division supported, National Security System designation, FIPS-199 impact level, Hosting location (on-premises, Azure, AWS), CNSS 1253 overlays, Data types managed, Mission/business function, Other evolving policy or operational criteria.
Apply the methodology across assigned systems in accordance with task order timelines.
Ensure methodology aligns with FIPS-199, NIST RMF, CNSS policies and overlays, FBI directives.
Analyze systems based on risk, operational impact, security posture, and required ISSO/ISSE support.
Maintain clear documentation supporting system grouping decisions, labor mapping, and support allocation.
Coordinate with program leadership, the COR, call order PM, and internal reviewers to ensure the methodology is transparent and defensible.
Support alignment of labor categories and seniority levels to systems based on complexity and support requirements.
Provide inputs for monthly reporting on labor allocation, chargeback, and cost recovery by system and FBI division.
Assist with Monthly Statement Reports (MSRs) including cost details by labor category, system, and division.
Track changes to systems, policies, technologies, and organizational structures that may affect categorization logic.
Support updates to methodology and reporting workflows within required timeframes.
Support ATO lifecycle activities, POA&M tracking, risk assessments, compliance documentation, and audit readiness efforts as needed.
Support approved automation or semi-automated processes used for categorization, reporting, or labor/cost visibility in accordance with FBI requirements.
