Job summary

Agile Defense seeks a Senior Information System Security Officer to support the FBI under Objective 2: ISSO/ISSE Program Management. The role develops and refines a methodology for categorizing FBI IT systems based on security, operational, and mission-related factors.

The ideal candidate brings strong federal cybersecurity experience, RMF knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with leadership, the COR, and reviewers to ensure transparent, defensible categorization and reporting.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• Experience supporting system categorization, security control compliance, and risk management under federal cybersecurity frameworks.
• Working knowledge of:FIPS-199
• NIST SP 800-37
• NIST SP 800-53
• CNSS 1253
• Federal RMF processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a documented methodology to categorize FBI IT systems based on security, risk, and mission factors.
• Apply methodology across assigned systems in line with task-order timelines.
• Ensure alignment with standards and guidance including FIPS-199, NIST RMF, CNSS policies, and FBI directives.
• Analyze systems for risk, impact, security posture, and required ISSO/ISSE support.
• Maintain documentation supporting decisions, labor mapping, and cost reporting.
• Coordinate with leadership, COR, PM, and reviewers for transparent, consistent methodology.
• Support labor category alignment to system complexity and requirements.
• Contribute to monthly labor, cost recovery, and MSR reporting.
• Track changes to systems and policies affecting categorization logic.
• Assist with ATO lifecycle, POA&M tracking, risk assessments, and audit readiness.
