Job summary

Appian seeks a Solution Architect for the Department of War to lead technical architecture and modernization initiatives. You will design Appian-based solutions that connect workflows, case management, and data orchestration within DoW ecosystems.

The role requires DoD-facing experience, cloud hosting expertise (AWS/GCP/Azure), and leadership in enterprise-scale projects, with travel up to 15% including SCIFs.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years advising customers on design and implementation of government cloud platforms; 10 years multi-tier app design/architecture.
• Experience architecting secure cloud hosting solutions for federal customers using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Leadership in designing or delivering enterprise-scale cloud environments (C2S/JWICS/GovCloud).
• Experience authoring federal proposals and whitepapers; RMF knowledge.
• Travel willingness around 10–15%, including SCIFs.

Responsibilities

• Advise on technical design and architecture of Appian solutions on private cloud or on-prem hosting.
• Support sales with high-value, differentiated solutions and delivery roadmaps.
• Present and vet integrated solutions and complex technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Lead configuration, testing, deployment and operations of Appian applications per agile methods.
• Drive technical success including governance, delivery automation, and program management input.
