Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to own end-to-end data & AI solutions for customers in the Databricks platform. You will lead architecture, deliver production-grade systems, and work across data engineering, AI, and application development while training and supporting client teams.

The role is customer-facing, requiring strong engineering depth, curiosity, and ability to drive measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with at least two cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong knowledge of Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• CI/CD for production deployments.
• Familiar with MLOps and AI models.
• Ability to design end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience with enterprise clients and project delivery.
• Willing to travel 20%.
• Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade deliverables including reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Guide transformational big data projects from design to deployment.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects to enable adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions to ensure security and scalability.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to deliver engagements.
• Provide feedback to product and support teams.
• Immerse with customer teams from ICs to executives.
• Develop accelerators and best practices that scale across accounts.
