Job summary

Databricks Inc. is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to lead production-grade solutions for our customers across data, AI, and application development.

You will own architecture, guide design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering and ML/AI, while training and supporting client teams. The role is hands-on and customer-facing, requiring strong engineering expertise, curiosity, and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Experience with two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Ability to design and deploy scalable end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scope, timelines and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel 20% and Databricks certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer projects delivering reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment.
• Bootstrap and implement customer projects to ensure adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM, architects and customer teams.
• Provide product feedback and rapid issue resolution with support teams.
• Embed with customer teams from ICs to executives.
• Develop accelerators, frameworks, and best practices for scale.
