Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Family Services Manager to supervise staff and oversee services across CSA, Foster Care, Adoption, CPS and related areas. You will lead case management, set quality objectives, monitor budgets, and coordinate with agencies to improve outcomes for children and families.

On-call coverage is required. Requires a Bachelor's in a Human Services field (or equivalent) and experience supervising staff in Virginia LDSS settings; strong communication and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or Bachelor's with 2 years related experience.
• Knowledge of supervision practices, policies and regulations for direct service programs.
• Ability to supervise, train, lead, develop staff and monitor performance.
• Experience interpreting laws, policies and regulations in human services.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to work with diverse partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to Family Services Specialists unit.
• Identify families needing agency support to keep children at home; ensure safety.
• Close cases timely and supervise high-profile or conflict cases as needed.
• Set objectives for quality and quantity of work; monitor progress and data.
• Administer training and evaluate staff; conduct semi-annual performance reviews.
• Establish relationships with community partners and advise on policy changes.
