This full-time, in-office role is ideal for a mid- to senior-level attorney with at least five years of experience in family law who is passionate about client advocacy, legal innovation, and mentorship. Manage a full caseload of traditional and complex family law matters, including:
Custody
Child and spousal support
Property and asset division
Handle emerging family law issues such as:
Assisted reproduction and fertility law
LGBTQ+ family legal matters
International family law
Draft and review legal documents, pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements
Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials
Provide strategic legal counsel at every stage of litigation
Mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and legal interns
Contribute to thought leadership through legal writing, CLEs, and speaking engagements
Collaborate with firm leadership to shape client service processes and internal team development
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license and good standing with the South Carolina Bar
Minimum of 5 years of family law experience (trial experience preferred)
Interest in or experience with assisted reproduction, LGBTQ+ issues, or digital asset division
Excellent legal writing, litigation, and communication skills
High emotional intelligence and empathy for clients during high-stress situations
Proven ability to lead, collaborate, and support team development
Juris Doctor (JD) required
Licensed to practice law in South Carolina (required)
Family law litigation and client counseling
Drafting legal documents and settlement agreements
Complex case analysis and problem-solving
Leadership and team mentorship
Oral advocacy and courtroom presence
Familiarity with evolving legal issues (fertility law, technology, nontraditional families)
