Job summary

SiTime is seeking a Senior Failure Analysis Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team focused on solving complex semiconductor IC failures. You will lead electrical and physical failure analyses, drive root cause investigation, and help improve product quality and customer satisfaction.

The role requires 5+ years in failure analysis, strong understanding of device structures, and hands-on experience with advanced FA tools such as micro-probing, SEM/EDX, FIB, and cross-sectioning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor IC failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of device structures, processes, and failure mechanisms; MEMS a plus.
• Experience with fault isolation, functional verification, and root cause analysis.
• Hands-on with advanced FA tools and techniques: micro-probing, SEM/EDX, deprocessing, FIB, cross-sectioning.
• Knowledge of 2D/3D inspection, reliability testing, and failure analysis best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and physical failure analysis investigations from initial fault isolation through root cause conclusion.
• Analyze failures from customer returns, qualification, reliability testing, and new product development to identify failure mechanisms and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design, product, test, system, reliability, and customer engineering teams to improve design robustness, test coverage, and manufacturing quality.
• Prepare clear FA summaries, technical reports, and leadership updates that support timely decision-making.
• Strengthen FA best practices, share lessons learned, and help improve overall analysis efficiency and reporting consistency.
