Job summary

Allegro MicroSystems, LLC is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to perform in-depth analysis of semiconductor ICs and failed components across design, manufacturing, qualification, and field operation. You will apply electrical, optical, and material techniques to pinpoint root causes and drive reliability improvements.

Collaborating with design, process, test, and reliability teams, you will develop new FA methodologies, maintain equipment, and contribute to product quality and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Understanding of semiconductor device physics and IC fabrication processes.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and layouts.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical, physical, and material analysis on failed semiconductor devices.
• Utilize advanced FA techniques (SEM/EDX, FIB, X-ray, IR microscopy) to identify failure causes.
• Perform electrical characterization and fault isolation to locate failures.
• Collaborate with design, process, test, and reliability teams to derive actionable insights.
• Document findings clearly in detailed reports and maintain FA equipment.
