The position emphasizes grantsmanship and support for research, teaching, and service, with a terminal degree and demonstrated teaching/research excellence in theater/film as required.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in a tenurable discipline in Visual & Performing Arts with significant administrative/teaching experience, preferably in a higher-education environment.

Responsibilities

• Engaging faculty in the strategic planning process for the department
• Department budget development, management and allocation
• Personnel management (i.e., recruitment and hiring; faculty/staff assignments and workload distribution; evaluation and professional guidance/development; reappointment, promotion & tenure, and post-tenure processes)
• Oversight of program accreditation
• Curricular and program development
• Grantsmanship and external funding focus
• Support of faculty research, teaching & service
