Job summary

Peraton is seeking a dynamic Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) to support full-scope security compliance in the Silver Spring, MD area. The role oversees clearance processing, SAP programs, security education, and INSpections in accordance with NISPOM and DoD manuals.

Ideal candidates hold a Top Secret clearance, possess DoD regulatory experience, and can work independently or in a team. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS/BA degree with 5+ years of experience or MS/MA with 3+ years.
• 9+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Must have Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with DoD processes and DoD/ SAP manuals.
• Ability to identify issues and develop solutions; strong written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee processing of new employee security clearances in DISS/NBIS.
• Manage SAP program security documentation and SAPF operations.
• Administer security education and awareness programs for cleared staff.
• Conduct periodic self-inspections and advise management on deficiencies.
• Communicate security procedures to employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain security documentation using SIMS and related systems.
• Interface with DCSA and manage program security interfaces.
• Investigate security violations and propose corrective actions.
