Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a facilities maintenance professional to perform a variety of repair tasks across county buildings. The role involves basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills, with responsibilities for HVAC systems, electrical wiring, and general facility upkeep.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
3 years of job-related experience preferred.
License is preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with the public and officials.

Responsibilities

Assist with general repairs within the facility including basic electrical, plumbing, preventative maintenance, assembling and moving furniture as needed.
Repair HVAC and electrical equipment as required.
Make necessary repairs to building facilities.
Install and repair electrical wiring as needed.
Maintain routine checks on general conditions of all buildings.
Assist in the preventative maintenance of all systems.
Train and/or assist other employees with their duties.
Participate in emergency management activities during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
