Job summary

The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician III to maintain and upkeep water district buildings, grounds, and structures in Fort Worth, TX. The role covers leading projects end-to-end, data entry for work orders and timekeeping, and coordinating with TRWD personnel.

You will ensure safety standards, participate in after-hours emergency response, and contribute to continuous improvement while managing resources and timelines for multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of experience in facility maintenance, remodeling, or a related field.
• Four (4) years progression of leadership experience.
• Ability to read and interpret building blueprints.
• Ability to estimate labor and material costs for assigned projects.
• Prior experience leading projects from start to finish with limited guidance from a supervisor.
• Proficiency with software programs such as Excel and Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, remodeling work on TRWD buildings, structures, and grounds.
• Lead end-to-end assigned projects including planning, design, estimating labor and materials, and directing crews.
• Perform data entry for work orders and for timekeeping.
• Transport materials and equipment for maintenance projects.
• Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
• Interact and coordinate with other TRWD personnel.
• May supervise and direct the work of others, including performance evaluations and discipline.
• After hours Emergency Response and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Report maintenance or structural issues to department supervisor.
• Participate in applicable condition assessments.
• Maintain familiarity with strategic district levels of service.
• Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts.
• Identify training budget needs.
• Performance review alignment.

• Perform other duties as required.
