Job summary

Tarrant Regional Water District is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician III to maintain and upgrade district grounds, buildings, and structures in the Fort Worth area. The role entails leading projects from planning through execution, coordinating with other TRWD personnel, and ensuring safety and quality in all tasks.

Ideal candidates will have eight years in maintenance, strong leadership experience, and the ability to read blueprints and estimate costs.

Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years of experience in facility maintenance, remodeling, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years progression of leadership experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret building blueprints.
  • Ability to estimate labor and material costs for assigned projects.
  • Prior experience leading projects from start to finish with limited guidance from a supervisor.
  • Proficiency with software programs such as Excel and Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, remodeling work, other general maintenance on TRWD buildings, structures, and grounds.
  • Responsible for the start to finish of assigned projects including planning, design, estimating labor and materials, and leading work crews.
  • Perform data entry for work orders and for timekeeping.
  • Transporting materials and equipment for maintenance projects.
  • Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Interact and coordinate with other TRWD personnel.
  • May supervise and direct the work of others including performance evaluations and discipline.
  • After hours Emergency Response and on-call rotation.
  • Report maintenance or structural issues to department supervisor.
  • Participate in applicable condition assessments.
  • Maintain familiarity with strategic district levels of service.
  • Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts.
  • Identify training budget needs.
  • Performance review alignment.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Eight (8) years of experience in facility maintenance, remodeling, or a related field
  • Four (4) years progression of leadership experience
  • Ability to read and interpret building blueprints

  • Prior experience leading projects from start to finish with limited guidance from a supervisor
  • Proficiency with software programs such as Excel and Microsoft Word

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in a specialized field/trade of the building industry
  • Four (4) years of field experience with direct supervision by a journeyman or master in a related field

Required Education/Certification/License:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Desired Education/Certification/License:

  • Associate degree in related field
  • State of Texas trade license in related discipline
  • CDL

This position will also work in confined spaces, on water ways such as lakes or rivers, and at various heights.
