Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Houston is seeking a Senior Facility Coder/Biller at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family. The role reviews medical records to assign accurate facility codes and ensures timely, compliant claim submissions for facility services, serving as a subject matter expert on complex coding issues.

You’ll mentor team members, oversee work queues, monitor productivity and quality, and support the Coding/Billing Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPC-A or CPC certification required.
• 5+ years facility coding & billing experience.
• Experience with EMR/EHR and billing systems.
• Understanding of facility billing processes and denial management.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Ensure timely, compliant claim submission for facility services.
• Serve as subject matter expert by resolving complex coding issues and supporting reimbursement optimization.
• Oversee work queues, monitor productivity and quality, provide guidance to team members.
• Backup to Coding/Billing Manager, supporting department operations and reporting.
