Job summary

The State of Wisconsin seeks a Facilities Repair Worker-Advanced to perform maintenance on facilities and supervise residents in repair tasks. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, minor repairs to walls, floors, doors, windows, and furnishings, along with standard grounds work.

This role requires climbing, ladders/scaffolding, and exposure to cold/heat, with moderate to heavy lifting. In-service trainings and emergency calls may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building construction/repair concepts and techniques.
• Knowledge of mechanical repair and maintenance principles.
• Knowledge of janitorial and cleaning techniques.
• Knowledge of grounds keeping and landscaping methods and procedures.
• Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs of building components.
• Supervise and train residents in mechanical maintenance tasks.
• Assist with general grounds maintenance including snow plowing and landscaping.
