Job summary
La Crosse County in West Salem, WI seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician - Long Term Care to maintain and repair a variety of building systems and equipment in a public care setting. You’ll work under supervision in the Facilities Department, handling tasks from electrical to plumbing, HVAC, and general upkeep across county facilities.
The role requires hands-on skills in multiple trades, the ability to operate building management systems, and a commitment to safety.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and ability to operate maintenance equipment safely.
- Experience with HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, and related items.
- Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and other skilled trades experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment.
- Familiarity with building management systems or willingness to train.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment.
- Operate heating and cooling equipment and related controls.
- Maintain boilers, chillers, pumps, and water treatment equipment.
- Repair doors, locks, electrical fixtures, flooring, and furnishings.
- Install and repair electrical, plumbing, and carpentry components as needed.
- Maintain grounds, perform snow removal, and assist in general upkeep.
- Keep maintenance records and report safety or facility issues.
