Job summary

State of Colorado is seeking a Grounds Keeping and Building Maintenance worker at the Rifle facility to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for residents and staff.

The role encompasses grounds care, building systems maintenance, equipment inspections, and coordination of tasks including recordkeeping and occasional vehicle operation. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned.
• A combination of related education, formal apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience equal to four (4) years.
• Must possess a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver’s License or an out-of-state license with Colorado residency within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Grounds keeping: mowing, trimming, fertilization, pruning, irrigation, and weed control.
• Equipment (Building Interiors): maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, alarms, beds, and mobility devices.
• Building Maintenance: multi-trade repairs, safety compliance, and remodeling tasks.
• Misc. Duties: training and supervising volunteers, site setup, and vehicle operation.
• Recordkeeping & Purchasing: manage paperwork, time sheets, invoices, and work orders.
