Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a Senior/Principal Facilities Technologist to design and manage maintenance plans and schedules for facilities infrastructure on site. The role emphasizes efficient, timely maintenance to support reliability and safety.

Responsibilities include building scheduling models, leading backlog reviews, coordinating with partners, and ensuring thorough work packages ready for execution. DOE Q clearance is required; 100% onsite work is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus three (3) years of related experience.
• Experience with chillers, cooling towers, air handlers and related systems.
• Planning and scheduling work for maintenance or construction-like activities.
• CMMS software for asset management and work orders (Maximo as example).
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Decide level of planning or field scoping based on hazards.
• Perform technical work to support engineering and maintenance activities.
• Be accountable for the Maintenance Planning Process and Corrective Maintenance Job Plans.
• Build and publish scheduling models based on work type and data.
• Lead monthly backlog reviews with Maintenance Team Leaders.
• Work with partners to ensure accurate work packages for scheduling and execution.
• Review work orders and detail orders (type, priority, start, hazard codes, plan, time, labor, materials).
• Initiate and/or acquire permits and coordinate planned outages.
• Participate in asset identification management, O&M strategy, RCM, Maximo PMs, job plans, standards/estimates, preventive tasks.
• Identify ES&H hazards and advise Safety Engineer.
