Job summary

The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch is seeking a seasoned Manager of Facility Operations to lead the Facilities Management Department. This role oversees operations, maintenance, and housekeeping while guiding staff through hiring, training, and performance reviews.

Responsibilities include capital project oversight, policy development, records management, and 24/7 on-call availability for emergencies. The position is based in Gallup, NM, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least 10 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership for facilities management activities including maintenance, construction, custodial services, and grounds.
• Oversees daily operations to comply with university, state, and federal guidelines.
• Plans and oversees major capital improvement projects with Facilities Planning.
• Supervises personnel, assigns work, trains staff, evaluates performance, and recommends personnel actions.
• Monitors contract personnel and ensures adherence to contract specifications and standards.
• Develops and implements policies for efficient and safe operation and maintains operating records.
• Manages budgeting for salaries, utilities, and supplies and maintains customer service standards.
• Provides 24/7 on-call support for emergencies and off-standard situations.
• Oversees safety, security, and disaster recovery programs; coordinates with other departments.
