Job summary

College of DuPage seeks an Assistant Chief Operating Engineer to oversee day-to-day operations of the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and economical operation of boilers, chillers, pumps, and automation systems.

You will supervise engineers and maintenance staff, develop procedures, coordinate with project managers, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards on campus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in operating and maintaining power plant and building mechanical equipment.
• Experience supervising foreman/supervisory staff preferred.
• Strong knowledge of life safety, building automation, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations, maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.
• Supervise engineering and maintenance personnel and manage staff schedules.
• Develop operating procedures and review maintenance, repairs, and equipment performance.
