The role ensures safe, compliant operation and documentation, and provides technical guidance to management, staff, and external consultants.

Responsibilities include planning maintenance, directing staff, reporting on facility conditions, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining a 24/7 coverage mindset.

Qualifications

• Two years of college in stationary, marine, mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Two years supervisory experience in maintenance of utility plant systems.
• Chicago stationary engineer's license or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Directs maintenance operations for plant equipment and systems.
• Plans daily work for planned and unplanned tasks while ensuring adequate staffing.
• Maintains safety and compliance with EPA/OSHA/local codes.
• Supports reporting on condition and renewal needs of facilities.
