Job summary
UTHealth Houston is seeking a highly skilled Mechanic p to perform advanced maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of chilled water, steam, and vacuum systems. This on-site role requires supervising technicians, reviewing plans, and responding to emergencies to sustain critical clinical and research operations.
The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in mechanical service, hands-on expertise with pumps, fans, VFDs, and related equipment, and a proven ability to manage complex maintenance projects
Qualifications
- 7 years of mechanical service experience required.
- Experience with steam, chilled water, vacuum, and pumps.
- Experience repairing pumps and fans.
- Must meet UTHealth essential position requirements.
Responsibilities
- Performs hands-on and supervisory maintenance and repairs of mechanical systems.
- Develops project scope, estimates materials, and coordinates installations.
- Reviews plans and specifications.
- Generates work orders and submits reports.
- Responds to critical situations affecting facilities and occupants.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
