Job summary

Chapters Health System is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to maintain all organization properties and facilities. The role requires reading plumbing schematics, safe operation of equipment, and the ability to travel to off-site locations.

The position involves supervising contractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and supporting facility operations around the clock including nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Trade School training.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in general maintenance and/or maintenance/repair of equipment.
• Able to read and interpret plumbing schematics and knowledgeable in plumbing requirements and safety.
• Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be available for on call duty (nights, weekends and holidays).

Responsibilities

• Oversees and maintains building and repairs as directed by the Facilities Manager.
• Oversees contractors for HVAC and other disciplines and oversees the bid process on major repairs or purchases.
• Maintains fire prevention and suppression equipment ensuring compliance with Regulatory Agencies.
• Submits purchase orders and initiates related Capital Expenditure Requests for approval.
• Monitors HVAC systems to ensure proper service requirements and compliance with Joint Commission and AHCA.
• Acts as advisor to gain best value of contractor services.
• Maintains lean spare parts inventory and a clean safe shop.
• Assists in routine Facility Department duties as directed by the Facilities Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
