Job summary

Powell in Chicago is seeking a Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician to operate, maintain, diagnose and repair the facility infrastructure and production equipment. The role covers HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems, with preventive maintenance on CNC machinery, welding equipment, and material handling/paint systems.

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and CMMS use are essential. The candidate will work independently or lead a team, coordinate with external contractors,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree in Electrical Technology preferred.
• Proven experience in industrial maintenance or facilities maintenance.
• Experience with installation, troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Facility and Building Maintenance: carpentry, lighting repairs, small plumbing fixes, sheetrock, painting for office make-ready.
• Equipment Diagnostics and Repair: diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing and fabrication equipment (CNC Laser Cutting, CNC Turret Punch Press, Robotic Welding, Automated Material Handling, Automated Powder Coat Painting).
• System Maintenance: maintain, troubleshoot, and replace control devices, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic systems, and electrical circuits.
• Technical Documentation: read and interpret assembly drawings, electrical/mechanical schematics, and layouts to source parts and execute repairs.
• CMMS Tracking: use CMMS to look up parts, track work orders, and maintain repair records.
• Safety and Compliance: adhere to plant safety, environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Collaboration and Mentorship: assist crew members, work cross-functionally, mentor or assist other maintenance technicians.
