Job summary

Ingersoll Rand's Chicago facility is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to perform high-level mechanical, electrical, and thermal maintenance on heavy industrial equipment. This onsite, full-time role focuses on minimizing downtime, diagnosing complex failures, and mentoring junior technicians.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in industrial maintenance, experience with rubber molding or heavy manufacturing, and proficiency with PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), CMMS, and precise metrology.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial plant maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years in rubber molding or heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Trade school degree, vocational certification, or apprenticeship preferred.
• LOTO training.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics, electrical drawings, pneumatic layouts.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, overhaul, and repair hydraulic molding presses and related components.
• Diagnose PLC-controlled systems and read ladder logic.
• Read, interpret, and troubleshoot hydraulic/electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Lead major machinery overhauls and realign equipment.
• Mentor junior maintenance technicians and assign daily work orders.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance using CMMS and maintain records.
