Job summary

Johnson County Government is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair complex building systems, lead special projects, and ensure safety and reliability of facilities. The role requires strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, plus ability to manage preventive maintenance and data records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 3+ years in building maintenance trades.
• Experience in HVAC diagnosis and repair; understanding building systems interoperability.
• Preferred: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing or Building Automation technical education.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other craft duties; complete work orders and preventive maintenance on building systems.
• Lead special projects: plan, inspect facilities, coordinate crews, train new members, and ensure safety standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment, track inventory, and prepare operating cost reports.
• Operate vehicles and various tools; document work orders and equipment logs.
