Job summary

CGL is seeking a Chief Maintenance Engineer in Hawkinsville, Georgia to oversee maintenance operations under the contract, supervise staff, and serve as the technical spokesperson with clients. The CME will manage work orders, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and maintain accurate CMMS records for reliable facility performance.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Experience supervising maintenance staff and reading blueprints is expected.
• Must understand OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Proficiency with computer-based preventive maintenance (CMMS) systems is required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Reviews job requests and work orders to set priorities.
• Assigns work to staff and tracks progress toward completion.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, gas, life-safety and related systems.
• Conducts routine facility inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintains records and documentation in CMMS; keeps client informed of status.
• Responds to emergencies per contract requirements and after-hours as needed.
• Trains and mentors technicians; supports knowledge sharing and skill development.
• Ensures OSHA compliance and maintains a safe workplace.
