Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Briggs, Texas is seeking a Senior Lead HVAC Technician IV to lead complex HVAC failures and mentor technicians. You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize systems from 5 to 100+ tons, support clean-room and controlled environments, and drive permanent corrective actions with RCA/RCCA.

This hands-on leadership role requires extensive experience, BAS and controls expertise, and the ability to coordinate with contractors while maintaining strict safety and documentation

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive commercial or industrial HVAC experience or equivalent education and experience.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.
• Experience with 5–100+ ton HVAC systems.
• Strong communication, documentation, and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to independently lead complex troubleshooting and provide technical guidance to other technicians.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical resource for complex HVAC and mechanical system failures.
• Provide mentoring and hands-on training to HVAC Technicians I–III.
• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, install, and optimize HVAC systems across facilities.
• Support RTUs, split systems, package units, air handlers, chillers, and process cooling systems.
• Lead RCA/RCCA and drive permanent corrective actions.
• Oversee contractors and controls vendors; ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Maintain CMMS documentation, work orders, and equipment histories.
• Communicate risks and timelines to Facilities leadership.
