Firefly Aerospace is seeking a senior HSE Specialist III to lead environmental, health, safety, and Process Safety Management for ground support equipment, propulsion test systems, and test operations at Briggs, Texas.

The role provides strategic guidance for cryogenic and hazardous operations, partnering with engineering, test, and facilities teams to ensure safe design, operation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HSE experience in high-hazard environments.
• 3+ years of PSM experience in highly hazardous operations.
• Formal training in PHA/HAZOP/LOPA.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of HSE and PSM programs for propulsion testing and hazardous operations.
• Serve as SME for high-risk operations involving propellants, cryogenics, and energized systems.
• Manage OSHA PSM elements and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate PHAs, HAZOPs, MOC, and PSSR processes.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses; implement corrective actions.
• Develop emergency response plans and incident command activities.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and external safety organizations.
• Mentor junior HSE staff and deliver advanced training.
