Job summary

AbbVie in New Jersey seeks a Senior Engineer to apply scientific and engineering knowledge to complex facility projects. You will lead building drawings, equipment manuals, and specifications, ensuring operations meet design intent.

You will coordinate with AbbVie teams and outside vendors, manage budgets and schedules, and mentor junior staff while upholding HS&E standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent with strong engineering/operational background.
• Strong technical knowledge; solves complex problems with multiple factors.
• Judgment within defined procedures; communicates effectively.
• Collaborates well with diverse groups and internal/external partners.
• Ability to negotiate and reconcile differences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain building drawings database, including equipment manuals and specs.
• Oversee design work, balance costs with benefits, coordinate with consultants.
• Lead safety, regulatory compliance, and HS&E program implementations.
• Coordinate with outside vendors for plans, budgets, schedules, and inspections.
• Manage office/lab space, layout, and equipment relocation; mentor team.
