Job summary

Afton Scientific in Virginia seeks an experienced Senior Facilities Engineer to maintain safe, reliable, and compliant sterile manufacturing operations, supporting pharmaceutical process equipment and production lines.

You will troubleshoot equipment, drive timely repairs, and strengthen preventive maintenance while collaborating with Manufacturing, Engineering, MS&T, EHS, and Facilities to minimize disruptions and push for continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma with 6+ years of maintenance experience or an associate degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience in sterile fill-finish manufacturing and GMP environments required.
• Ability to work independently within established procedures and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical resource for production teams and provide hands-on support for pharmaceutical process equipment.
• Act as first responder for equipment malfunctions and drive timely troubleshooting and resolution.
• Support equipment including fill lines, isolators, autoclaves, and related machinery.
• Collaborate with owners, engineers, vendors to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Support preventive maintenance and calibration activities.
• Develop/update preventive maintenance instructions and inventories of spare parts.
• Complete work orders, GMP records, and documentation on time.
