Job summary

Afton Scientific is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Engineer to join our facilities team in Virginia. This role provides hands-on technical support for pharmaceutical process equipment, troubleshoots issues, and strengthens preventive maintenance practices to sustain sterile manufacturing operations.

Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, MS&T, EHS, and other teams to manage equipment reliability, documentation, and process improvements in a compliant, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Six years of maintenance experience on manufacturing equipment or an Associate degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience in a sterile fill-finish manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GMP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work independently while following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource to production teams for process equipment.
• Act as first responder for equipment malfunctions and drive timely troubleshooting.
• Support equipment such as fill lines, isolators, autoclaves, and related machinery.
• Collaborate with owners, engineers, vendors, and other resources to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Support preventive maintenance and calibration activities.
• Develop and update preventive maintenance instructions and manage inventories of critical spare parts.
• Complete work orders and GMP records accurately and on time.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and work with teams on sustainable solutions.
• Assist training of Manufacturing personnel on process equipment.
