Job summary

Afton Scientific, a Virginia‑based contract manufacturing organization, seeks a Senior Facilities Engineer to maintain safe, reliable manufacturing operations. You will troubleshoot process equipment, support fill lines and isolators, and drive preventive maintenance in a GMP setting.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, MS&T, and EHS to minimize disruptions and support continuous improvement across sterile manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus six years of maintenance experience in manufacturing equipment or an associate degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience in sterile fill‑finish environments and GMP standards.
• Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
• Background in continuous process improvement and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for pharmaceutical process equipment and act as first responder for malfunctions.
• Support fill lines, isolators, autoclaves, washers, and related machinery; troubleshoot issues.
• Develop and update preventive maintenance instructions; manage spare parts inventory.
• Complete work orders and GMP records accurately and on time; participate in on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with engineering, MS&T, EHS, and other teams on new product introductions.
