Job summary

Hobbs Brook Real Estate LLC is seeking a Chief Facilities Engineer to lead the engineering and facilities operations for a multi-building Class A office portfolio in Waltham, MA. The role partners with property management, asset management, and internal teams to drive operations, budget, tenant service, and sustainability.

You will oversee daily operations, manage budgets, mentor staff, and coordinate with vendors on MEP and life-safety projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of related technical experience in MEP/Building operations.
• Four+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience with Class A office building operations and building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance, and replacement of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, building controls across a Class A portfolio.
• Lead, mentor, train, and develop engineering staff; address performance and vendor issues.
• Manage building management systems, work order platforms, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Engage and manage vendors, contractors, and consultants for MEP, life safety, and capital projects.
• Partner with property management, construction, EHS, FM engineering, HR, legal, finance, and other teams to support operations and compliance.
• Assist with annual operating and capital budgets, reforecasts, and expense management.
• Review invoices and contracts for proper documentation per accounts payable procedures.
• Support emergency preparedness, life-safety, training, and risk management.
• Participate in capital and tenant improvement projects from commissioning to operations.
