Job summary

The Judge Group in Waltham, MA is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead engineering and facilities operations across a Class A office portfolio onsite in Waltham. This role focuses on delivering reliable infrastructure and tenant satisfaction.

You will oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and BAS/BMS systems, while mentoring staff and managing budgets and vendor relations to ensure regulatory compliance and sustainable operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial building operations, facilities, or engineering experience.
• 4+ years of leadership experience managing engineering or maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, MEP systems, BAS/BMS platforms, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience with vendor management, capital projects, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
• EPA Universal/CFC certification and Class A office or life science facility experience are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and facilities operations across a Class A office portfolio.
• Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and building automation systems.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs, vendors, contractors, and capital projects.
• Develop and mentor engineering staff while driving operational excellence and tenant satisfaction.
• Support budgeting, regulatory compliance, sustainability initiatives, and emergency preparedness.
