Job summary

JLL is seeking a Senior Operating Engineer to support the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of facilities for a State of Tennessee client. The role combines expertise in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems with preventive maintenance and proactive troubleshooting to ensure safe, efficient building operations.

The position requires hands-on experience with commercial HVAC, building automation, and CMMS management, with a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in building engineering, facilities maintenance, or similar.
• Experience with commercial HVAC systems and building automation controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on HVAC systems and related mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues to minimize downtime.
• Use CMMS to manage work orders and document maintenance activities.
• Monitor operations to improve energy efficiency and system reliability.
• Coordinate with technicians, contractors, and client representatives.
