Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a highly motivated Facilities Controls Engineer to support the Facilities Operations Group. You will troubleshoot and modify control software, lead contractor efforts on scope and startup, and design control-panel upgrades.

You will manage ESXi/vSphere server infrastructure for domain controllers, SCADA, historian, and PLCs, and help build high-availability OT networks. The role requires a BS in engineering and at least four years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering field.
• Minimum of four years of experience in a relevant field.
• Experience with Rockwell RSLogix/Studio5000, Aveva System Platform, Siemens SIMATIC Manager Step7, Siemens WinCC OA and Ignition HMI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for facilities control systems by troubleshooting and modifying code.
• Lead contractors through development of the scope of work by reviewing control design packages, P&ID drawings, testing and startup of new equipment.
• Identify, develop and design control panels and upgrades to improve system functionality and reliability.
• Collaborate with operators, technicians and process engineers to implement improvements.
• Manage virtualized server infrastructure (ESXi/vSphere) for domain controllers, SCADA, historian, and PLC management; design high-availability OT networks and optimize PLC/SCADA traffic.
• Handle fiber media inventory, integrate PLC protocols with IT, maintain topology diagrams and IP/VLAN plans; ensure compliance and provide Tier 2/3 network support.

Role and Responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Bachelor of Science degree in related Engineering field.

• A minimum of four years of experience in a relevant field is required.

• SoftwareknowledgeorexperiencewithRockwellRSLogix/Studio5000,AvevaSystemPlatform,SiemensSIMATICManagerStep7,SiemensWinCCOpenArchitectureandIgnitionHMIisaplus.

• FamiliarityandexperiencewithRockwellControlLogix/CompactLogix/MicroLogix,SiemensS7-400CPUHardware.

• Knowledgeofindustrialnetworksandcommunicationprotocols(Ethernet,Modbus,Profibus,Profinet,fiberoptics,Devicenet,RS485).KnowledgeofITnetworking,Firewall,virtualization,Servermanagement,ProcessInstrumentations,Industrialcontrolpanels,MotorControlPanels,andVFDs.

The current base salary range for this role is between $106,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
