Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is seeking a senior Facilities Planning & Construction leader to oversee statewide projects, manage budgets, and ensure design and construction meet institutional standards. This role emphasizes integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement while guiding complex capital programs.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in construction or business, 10+ years of leadership in facilities, and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction or business related field.
Five years of progressive administrative experience in higher education.
Ten years of experience in a senior leadership or managerial role overseeing facilities budget, operations and development of new or renovated facilities.
Knowledge of capital development, planning, design and construction including campus master planning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage project development, planning, design, and construction of new facilities, major renovations, and deconstruction to ensure project goals are met.
Prepare RFQ and RFP proposals for selection and approval of professional service providers and construction contracts; review work of contractors.
Participate in selection of consultants and be a voting member on A/E and Contractor selection committees.
Represent Facilities Planning & Construction on high level committees and with officials as assigned.
Oversee statewide construction projects and resources; lead assigned project managers.
