Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is seeking a Senior Maintenance Worker to lead maintenance, inspections, and repairs across campus buildings and equipment. You will supervise junior staff and coordinate tasks to support the Facilities team while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires a valid Texas Driver's License, the ability to obtain a license if needed, and strong communication with campus stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in facility maintenance or a skilled trade.
• Applicable license or the ability to obtain one within the first year of employment.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and insurability under TSTC liability policy.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct inspections and preventive/corrective maintenance on buildings, equipment, and systems.
• Lead worker on assigned tasks or projects and mentor maintenance staff.
• Ensure safety procedures, codes, and regulations; maintain inspection and repair records.
• Enter occupied/unoccupied buildings with required accompaniment.
• Check out and maintain tools and equipment; report damaged items.
• Operate state vehicles and motorized equipment safely per institutional policies.
• Coordinate with Facilities staff and other departments; provide status updates to supervisors.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting 30-60 lbs, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
