Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an experienced F5 Engineer to support Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD. The role focuses on traffic management, Local/GlobalTraffic, and TcL scripting across data centers.

You will manage F5 LTM/ASM/BIG-IQ/APM, contribute to secure network infrastructure, and work within a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. This position requires DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant certification and 7+ years of F5 experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent combination of education and training.
• F5 201 certification required or within 3 months of hire.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements (Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, CCNA Security).
• 7+ years of relevant F5 experience with LTM/ASM/BIG-IQ/APM.
• Knowledge across Storage, Virtualization, Networking, Data Center Migration, and Disaster Recovery.
• Experience with TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, SDN, 802.1x; DNS/DHCP/IPAM/NTP in large multi-site env.

Responsibilities

• Manage configuration on multiple physical and virtual F5 devices across data centers.
• Develop and support customer technical requirements.
• Plan, design, implement, and operate F5 products (LTM, ASM, BIG-IQ, APM).
• Provide clear technical documentation and procedures.
• Propose system enhancements to improve performance and reliability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network security infrastructure and connectivity issues.
• Perform launch testing for new software releases and features.
• Collaborate with technology towers to achieve goals.
• Apply capacity planning configuration changes as needed.
• Address performance, scalability, and service-architecture issues.
• Coordinate equipment orders and upgrades for appliances and virtualization.
