Job summary

Mandarin Oriental New York is seeking an Assistant Director of Food and Beverage to lead our Food & Beverage outlets in New York City. You will work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef to ensure flawless operations and guest experiences across all outlets.

The role requires at least five years in luxury hotel restaurant management, strong English communication, budgeting and staffing skills, and the ability to mentor managers while driving guest satisfaction

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years restaurant management in a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to organize resources and establish priorities.
• Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks and projects.
• Knowledge of Infogenesis and OpenTable Reservations.
• Forecasting, budgeting and staffing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Execute operational and strategic initiatives discussed and initiated; provide feedback and alternatives.
• Prepare strategic business plans for hotel operations.
• Formulate and implement strategic direction for the hotel’s local community involvement.
• Develop lower and middle management through coaching, mentoring and formal interactions; use Balanced Score Card and appraisal tools.
• Develop and maintain business through effective guest relations.
• Recruit and train staff in accordance with hotel guidelines.
• Ensure staff grooming and uniform standards are met.
• Review staff performance per hotel guidelines.
• Stay up to date with local and international restaurant trends.
